“I broke a tooth and promptly saw my dentist who placed a crown on the broken tooth. For two months after my crown I still experienced chronic aching pain and severe sensitivity to cold on that tooth. I went to Dr. Potter for a consultation. She carefully examined my tooth and performed several diagnostic tests to evaluate the condition of the tooth and all of my options. This was my first root canal so naturally I was apprehensive. She clearly explained the procedure so that I had a complete understanding of process and the overall benefits. Thorough Consultation: Your consultation was completely thorough and educational. In that consultation you delivered the pros and cons and other considerations for RCTs, extractions and implants. Again, my confidence in my doctor grew even more.

Communication Ability: You talk in laymen’s terms so the patient can understand. You invite questions and concerns so you can address them immediately. Your body language is such that you lean forward and look the patient in the eye. You don’t just talk to the radiograph monitor in ‘doctor speak’. It was most certainly a two-way conversation. Additionally, I appreciate the rapport you have with your assistant(s). You are courteous, you say, “thank you,” and you seem to make them feel valuable.

Nurturing Spirit: Fortunately, I am rather comfortable in the dental chair but many are not. Your disposition reflects your great concern for your patient’s comfort. It is demonstrated by your physicality and communicated verbally throughout the procedure.

Additionally, I am excited because my RCT was a success! That angled tooth with calcified canals provided some real challenges and you handled it like a rock star letting it know who was boss. You saved my tooth and I am thrilled. I believe you are actually passionate about what you do.
