The GentleWave System employs an effective combination of broad-spectrum acoustic energy and advanced fluid dynamics to remove tissue, debris and bacteria (including biofilms) from the root canal system. Bacterial biofilms are colonies of bacteria that group together and form a hard, sticky layer. Dental plaque is one example that may be familiar to you. When bacteria are able to enter and colonize inside of a tooth, they form these same biofilms.
Each tooth has a unique anatomy with isthmuses, accessory canals and curves. The Gentlewave allows us to instrument conservatively and navigate complicated root anatomy, cleaning out complex canal spaces to provide a comprehensive clean.
We are very proud to be able to offer this level of care to our patients. Dr. Karen Potter and Dr. Craig Bergquist are trained in the use of the GentleWave System and will gladly answer any questions you may have about this exciting new technology.
